3How diabeties distrub the body?

First things first, what goes wrong in the body of a person with Diabetes? All the cells and tissues in our body need glucose and oxygen. Oxygen is present in the air we breathe and glucose is extracted from the food we eat. Glucose is stored in muscles in the form of glycogen. Besides, it is made in liver from other nutrients like protein/fat and its present in the food which is absorbed from the gut. When glucose id in excess for example, right after a meal rich in carbohydrates, Insulin (a hormone) is released from pancreas and it lowers the amount of glucose in blood in two ways: first, by diverting it to muscle and fat tissue. Second, by lowering the production of glucose in the liver. The problem arises either when there is no Insulin production due to destruction of cells in the pancreas (type 1 Diabetes) or when the released insulin from normal cells of pancreas does not perform its function (type 2 diabetes). In short, Diabetes is a disease of multiple causes. It is longstanding hyperglycemia (increased glucose in blood) resulting from defects in insulin release, insulin action or both.
